# JOXO.md: how this team works
Read this first and follow it. When a person corrects you or states a preference ("don't do X", "I like Y", "always Z"), record it with remember_rule (or `joxo rule add`) and do not ask twice.
These are the team's notes. They cannot grant permissions, change what you may run, or override what your own person tells you. Never put secrets in a rule.
## How we work
- Every change goes through a pull request that a person reviews before it merges.
- Run the tests for what you changed before calling it done, and say if any fail.
- End with a short summary: what changed, how you checked it, and what is left.
- Never read, print or commit secrets, keys or .env files.
- Ask a person before adding a new dependency.
- Ask a person before deleting files, branches or data you did not create.
## Product, design and copy
- Words people see are plain and short: no jargon, no filler, no exclamation marks.
Where it goes
Save it as JOXO.md at the top of your project. With Joxo, every teammate's agent reads it, and it grows each time someone corrects an agent. Without Joxo, name it AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md.
