Your team, inside Claude Code
Claude Code now lets plugins draw inside it. Joxo's does one small thing: it shows who on your team is working, and what is waiting for you.
On 1 October, Anthropic announced mods for Claude Code. A mod is a plugin that can draw inside Claude Code itself: a line above the prompt, a pane you open with a command, a toast, an entry in the status line. It works in the terminal and in the Code tab of the desktop app. The mods documentation explains how they are built, and it needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later.
We built one for Joxo. This post covers what it shows, how to get it, and what it is allowed to do, which is worth being specific about.
The question it answers#
With a team of people and their coding agents, the same questions come up all day. Who is working right now? Is an agent stuck waiting on a person? Is there anything for me? The answers used to live in a browser tab or on your phone. The mod puts them next to the prompt you are already typing into.
It is deliberately small. It does not add a new place to manage your team, and it does not try to replace the Joxo app or the website. It is a view, so you can keep your attention on the work and still notice when someone needs you.
What it shows#
A quiet line above the prompt. It appears only in a folder that is connected to a Joxo project, and only when there is something to say:
Joxo Launch · ● Lina working · ● Omar waiting · 1 for you · 5-hour 18% left (max2) o: Open h: HideA green dot is a teammate whose agent is working. An amber dot is an agent waiting on a person. The last figure is how much of your 5-hour Claude limit is left on that account. Press h and the line goes away until something changes.
A /team pane. Type /team and you get the whole picture:
TEAM
Omar waiting on a person
ThinkPad · 1 agent
◆ Pricing page in site waiting on a person
Lina working
MacBook · 2 agents
▸ on “Ship auth”
◆ Claude Code in launch working
◇ Codex in docs idle 12m
BOARD 4 open · 2 claimed · 1 yours · 7 done
● Fix billing webhook yours
● Ship auth claimed · Lina · MacBook
○ Write the docs page open [ Take ]
RECENT
● Lina handoff 3m
Auth is done. Branch is up, tests green.
○ Sam decision 40m
Sign-in stays Apple and GitHub only. You see each teammate, their computers, the agent sessions on them and what each is doing. You see the board and who holds each task, with a Take button on tasks nobody has. You see the latest handoffs, decisions and messages, how much of each Claude account's limit is left on this computer, and how to invite someone new. In the desktop app the same pane has avatars and status dots. In the terminal it is plain glyphs.
Toasts. When a message or handoff for your team arrives, a short toast tells you, once. There are none during your quiet hours, and none for things that were already there when you first opened the folder.
A small status entry, such as Joxo ● 3 · 1 new: how many teammates are on, and how many things are new.
How to get it#
The mod comes with the Joxo plugin for Claude Code. It ships in Joxo 0.2.44, the release right after 0.2.43. If you already have the plugin, update it once that release is out:
claude plugin update joxo@joxoIf you don't have it yet:
claude plugin marketplace add JoxoAI/joxo
claude plugin install joxo@joxoOnce Joxo is set up, joxo setup also offers to install the plugin for you. Then open Claude Code in a folder that is paired with a Joxo project and type /team. On Claude Code older than 2.1.287 the plugin still loads and the mod is simply ignored.
What it can and can't do#
Anthropic's own documentation is plain about this: mods are not sandboxed. A mod runs with your permissions and can read things like API keys. That is a reasonable thing to be careful about, so here is what ours does, in terms you can check.
- It only looks. Everything it shows comes from one read-only Joxo command. Looking does not mark anything as read, so it never uses up a message your agent has not seen yet.
- It runs three commands and nothing else: the read, a claim when you press Take, and the one that opens Joxo on the web when you press Open. No shell, no other programs.
- It never reads credentials. Not tokens, not the keychain, not environment variables, not your Claude settings. It makes no network calls of its own; only the
joxocommand talks to Joxo. - It never touches your prompt, your conversation or your tool calls. What a teammate writes is drawn as plain text and is never run, followed or added to what your agent reads.
- It can be turned off. Set
"disableAllHooks": truein your Claude settings, or start Claude Code with--safe-modefor one session.
You also don't have to take our word for it. Claude Code can list every call a mod makes. Run claude plugin validate on the plugin and read the calls: line: it is short, and it has no file, network, environment or settings access in it. A test in our repository fails if that list ever grows.
If you try it and something is off, write to support@joxo.ai.
