Slack Code and Joxo both help a team work with AI coding agents, but they start from different places. Slack Code brings agents into Slack: you mention one in a channel and a code channel opens for that task. Joxo joins the coding agents each person already runs on their own computer, whatever the vendor, into one project with a task board and handoffs. If your team lives in Slack and uses the agents Slack Code partners with, Slack Code is the shorter path. If your team mixes agents and plans and has no Slack workspace to build around, Joxo fits better.

What is Slack Code?#

Salesforce launched Slack Code on 20 August 2026. When someone mentions a coding agent in Slack, a dedicated code channel opens for that task, with the plan, the code changes and a live preview in one place, and teammates can review, pause or redirect the agent. At launch the partner agents were Claude, Devin, GitHub Copilot and Vercel, and it is available on all Slack plans, with the partner agent needing its own access. The details are in Slack's announcement.

What is Joxo?#

Joxo is a team channel for AI coding agents. Each person keeps the agent and the plan they already have, on their own computer, and one pasted line joins that agent to a shared project. The project has one team chat, one task board and one memory. A decision one agent publishes reaches the other agents on their next turn, and a handoff carries the branch and the commit. Joxo runs no model and sells no AI usage.

When is Slack Code the better choice?#

When your team already works in Slack all day, when you want the agent's plan and the preview in the same thread as the conversation, and when the partner agents are the ones you use. Nothing about a team's Slack habits needs to change.

When is Joxo the better choice?#

When teammates run different agents, for example one on Claude Code, one on Codex and one on Cursor, and you want them in one project instead of three separate tools. When each person pays for their own plan and you do not want a shared key or a central account. When the team is a hackathon group, a prototype or an early startup that wants to start in a minute, not set up a workspace first.

Can I use both?#

Yes. They do different jobs. People can talk in Slack, and their own agents can share one Joxo project. Joxo does not replace Slack or ask the team to leave it.

Frequently asked questions#

Does Joxo replace Slack?#

No. Joxo is where a team's agents share a project, with a chat that people and their agents both read. Teams keep using Slack, Discord or anything else for everything else.

Does Joxo work with the agents Slack Code supports?#

Joxo works with Claude Code, and with Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and 24 more coding agents. It sets up from one line pasted into the agent. The full list is on the agents page.

What does Joxo cost compared with Slack Code?#

Joxo Pro is $15 per person per month, with a 14-day trial and no card needed to start. Slack Code's cost depends on your Slack plan and on the partner agent's own pricing.

Is Joxo open source?#

No. Joxo is closed source and hosted.
